How to change the news/blog default image

Each article includes an option to include a hero visual element in the form of a banner image. The banner image is used in various listing style feeds on sidebars, the home page, yearly archive and category pages. If you do not choose to include a banner image for a post article, a default image will be used.

You can only include one default image per news/blog site.

Instructions

  1. In the Site Content tree on the left, click on the _files folder, then click on the images folder.

  2. Select the blog-default.jpg file.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Drag and drop an image from somewhere on your computer into the browser window, or choose one from your computer. The File Name will automatically populate with the file name previously given to the image. You must retain the file name blog-default.jpg. If you do not retain the filename, you will need to update the image-default velocity format file.

  5. There are minimal photo editing options available that you can use to resize or crop your image. Your default image should be 700 x 467 pixels. See Upload Image WYSIWYG Editor for more information.

  6. Click Preview Draft. After previewing the draft, click Submit to save the image to the CMS.

  7. The image has been successfully saved to the CMS. You should now Publish your image.

Images uploaded to the CMS can be inserted into a page via a WYSIWYG editor by clicking on the Insert/edit Image button regardless of publish status.
