The University is very mindful of the appropriate use and presentation of the NMSU trademark. For digital and Web content, make sure you are presenting the mark correctly.

Appropriate Use of Logo and Trademarks

The logo should be used in larger viewports along with the appropriate website title hierarchy. It is the preferred version to use in coordination with a site's masthead and footer. Do not use other NMSU trademarks for website content.

Acceptable Color Variations

Website mastheads should use the official logo in one of two color varieties. The decision should be based on the background color the logo is place above.

  • White masthead with crimson logo and website title

  • Crimson masthead with white logo and website title.

Specifications

The masthead managed within the centrally offered website content management software includes the logo and appropriate layout of website title hierarchy. The following specifications are followed for those variations. Additional specifications should be followed using a code inspection. What appears below are specifications NOT explicitly defined in CSS: 

Exceptions

Exceptions are iss­­ued in appropriate situations but must be submitted to Marketing and Communications and approved prior to going live. The examples below are approved masthead branding exceptions. Submit exception requests to mchavira@nmsu.edu

Mobile Viewports: Correct Presentation

On smaller viewports and devices only, a different presentation of the NMSU logo setup should be used.

Footer Region

All NMSU websites must present the University’s official logo in the footer for all viewports. The signature should always link to nmsu.edu .
