To insert an image on your page, use the WYSIWYG Editor or the Add Content option.

Add an Image using WYSIWYG

  1. Create a New Page with Featured Text as the Content Type, or Edit an existing page.

  2. Click in the text where you want your image to appear.

  3. Click Insert/edit image.

Using the Choose File Panel

  1. Select Internal and click Choose File.

    • The Choose File panel will open.

Use an External Link to source an image from another website. Linking to external images does NOT save that image in your website content. External links are subject to change or removal by the owner of the sourced website.

Browse Site Directory

  1. To insert an image from the Site Directory, click Browse. (Click View Thumbnails to see the images.)

    • Navigate to the Images folder within your Site Directory. (Your image may be located outside the Images folder, depending on your site organization.)

  2. Select the Image and click Choose.

Upload from Computer

  1. To insert an image from your computer, click Upload.

    • Select choose one from your computer.

    • Select Placement Folder and click Choose.

  2. Enter an Image Description to ensure content accessibility. If the image serves only as decoration and does not add significant meaning to the page, check the option decorative image, no description needed. Cascade CMS will automatically insert an empty string, allowing screen readers to skip the image.

  3. Enter Dimensions (optional). It is recommended that you keep the Constrain Proportions checkbox checked to ensure your image is not stretched or skewered when resized.

  4. Click Ok.

  5. Click Preview Draft to to preview your page.

Add an Image within Content Type

Some Content Types will require you to insert an image. Cascade will format your image according to the Content Type you select. When inserting an image, Alternative Text is required. Refer to Related articles below for a creating a specific Content Type.

  1. Create a New Page or Edit an existing page.

  2. Select the Content Row and Content Type.

    • Content Type examples:

      • Content Panel with Background

      • Content Panel

      • Feature Cards

      • Grid Builder

  3. Click Choose Image and follow the instructions above in Using the Choose File Panel.

  4. Click Preview Draft to preview your content.
