Connect via VPN

To access cascade.nmsu.edu, a VPN (virtual private network) client must be installed and configured on your computer. A VPN client is a program that protects your internet connection from various malicious activities. It is imperative to the security of all NMSU websites and must be initiated prior to logging in to Cascade each and every time. 

The VPN client requires a single download.

 Instructions

To download and install VPN client:

  1. Click VPN Client Installer.

    • Sign in with your NMSU credentials.

    • Follow the steps to download and install:

      • Click Download.

         

      • Locate the downloaded file and click to launch the setup.

      • Click Next.

      • Click Next to agree to the Software License Agreement.

      • Click Install.

      • Click Yes.

      • Click Finish to exit the Install Wizard.

 

 

To connect VPN:

  1. Locate and launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.

    • Click Connect.

       

The green checkmark on the lock icon indicates a secure connection to the VPN. Minimize the window and return to your internet browser to log in to Cascade.
