How to Add an External Link

An external link is an asset that points to a website outside of Cascade CMS. External links are useful when you need to include external websites in your top or sidebar navigation menus.

Instructions

  1. Look for a red plus sign in the topmost header area of the page, and click on Add Content.

  2. Inside the Add Content menu, select External Link from the dropdown menu.

  3. Fill in the Link Name and select a Placement Folder.

  4. Under Link Settings, Include the full website address (URL) in the Link text box.

  5. Click Preview Draft.

  6. Click Submit.

Make sure to test the link in a browser before adding it to your website. You should copy the link from your browser window and not your email, document or teams channel. Anything that begins with https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/ will not work.

It is recommended that you create one placement folder for external links. This helps to keep all of your external links organized in one location. Depending on your website content and structure, you may have more than one external link folder.
