Migrating Text

IMPORTANT: For best results, it is suggested to import raw, unformatted text into your new pages. To avoid accidentally importing unwanted text settings from the old site, paste your copied content into a simple word-processing application such as WordPad or TextEdit. This removes text formatting and allows you to cut and paste “plain text” into your new page. Any optional formatting (such as bold, italic, bullet text or hyperlinks) should be inputted through the Cascade WYSIWYG.

Rich Text vs Plain Text:

Plain text is raw, unformatted text. Rich text is formatted with bolding, numbering or bullets, images and other objects.

  1. Navigate to your WordPress page and Copy the text you want to migrate.

  2. Paste the text into a word processing app such as WordPad or TextEdit to remove any preexisting formatting.

  3. Copy the text from the app you are using and Paste it into the Content area of the new page you created in Cascade.

Once the text is pasted on your page, you can use the WYSIWYG to format it. (See WYSIWYG for more information.)
